I went over to some friends' house for dinner last night, and as I was getting ready to leave after dinner, they made us circle around the table and take turns telling uplifting stories that had happened to us during the last week. They wouldn't let us leave until we did it. They claimed it was a tradition, but they've never done it when I was over before.

Well, it's never been my tradition. I think it's Greg's maybe.

What you were involved with last night was 'Dinner at Greg's' only it wasn't at Greg's. Anyway, we went to his house all summer every Tuesday for dinner and at the end of dinner he had everyone go around and say something good that happened to them that week. (Not necessarily "uplifting")

The instructions I was given said "uplifting."
