Ok, seriously. I don't get it. I realize that I don't watch as much news as I should, but I hadn't even heard of Obama until CNN decided he should be president. Now it seems like he's the only candidate anyone ever talks about. I don't understand where he came from or why the hype is so big.
And the funny thing about this is that, despite all of the hype and how much everyone is talking about this movie, no one ever talks about why he is good. All I've heard so far is that the he's the best Democratic candidate ever, but the only indication of why is just because he's black.
Now, I understand that some presidential nominations are strictly publicity stunts and don't try to be more meaningful than that. I'm indifferent to that. There's a lot of those people that I enjoy. I also understand that sometimes controversy in the media is entertaining (and though I probably shouldn't think so, there's some of these that I enjoy, too).
So, I ask this not by way of criticism, but as an actual question for anyone that's studied this candidate: Is he good?
So I wrote that in response to a comment on the 300 post, but after I wrote this modified version about Obama, I realized that I could do one more:
Ok, seriously. I don't get it. I realize that I don't watch as much news as I should, but I hadn't even heard of Mitt Romney until he decided he should be president. Now it seems like he's the only candidate anyone in Utah ever talks about. I don't understand where he came from or why the hype is so big.

yes. he is good. he is definitely aesthetically pleasing.
is that the only good thing about him? is there anything uplifting or redeeming about him? if he were somehow enlightening--even while being disturbing--i'd still think he at least deserves consideration.
however, "definitely aesthetically pleasing" doesn't necessarily equal "good presidential canditate" in my mind. I can think of a few physical features that i would classify as "not good" even though they are meant to be nice to look at.
...but how does the nation ever come to a consensus on something like this anyway?
How do you post web addresses.
Why is Obama good, or great in my mind? This is a classic african american similar to O.J. Simpson or Harriet Tubman, but a lot better. Obama takes you to a ghetto bred to fight, a ghetto unheard of. When the child is 8 they kick them out of the city to buy crack for themselves and come back true pimps. They are real pimps, it is a ghetto that thrives on drugs and crime, and when challenged by the biggest white man, they send the 300 best pimps against the government's consent.
This Man stands out to me because, yes he is aesthetically pleasing, but He is a great story of a nation that does not know grammar, does not know what wheat bread is.
I would go vote for this Representative at least four times in the booth. He is the best african american I have seen in quite some time. He is a must vote
I would just like to thank you all for addressing my concerns. I will consider his ghetto upbringing, his aesthetic pleasure, and lack of wheat bread awareness when I go to the polls in a few months.
